Quiz night with friends, wherever they are
One of you hosts from a phone or laptop and drops the link in the group chat. Everyone answers on their own phone, whether they're on the sofa next to you or on a video call three time zones away. Ten questions, live scores, and one winner who won't let it go.

How to run a quiz night with friends
- 1Open huddlequiz.com/host and pick Quick (3 questions) or Standard (10). The room opens with a join link, a code and a QR code.
- 2Paste the link in the WhatsApp group, or hold up the QR code if everyone is in the room. On a video call, share your screen or drop the link in the chat.
- 3Friends open the link on their phone, type a name, and they're in. No app, no account.
- 4Press start. Each question runs for 20 seconds, the answer reveals when everyone has answered, and the board updates after every round.
Why it works for a night in (or a night apart)
- Phones are the buzzers. Everyone answers on their own screen, so nobody shouts over anyone else or waits for the pen.
- The host plays too. Whoever starts the huddle can take a seat and compete, so nobody is stuck reading questions all night.
- Nothing to prepare. Questions are drawn at random from every themed pack, so nobody spent the afternoon writing rounds and nobody has seen the answers.
- Works over distance. Same game whether friends are in the room, on FaceTime, in a Discord call or on Zoom.
Three ways to play it
- Sofa and TV: cast or plug the host screen into the TV and everyone plays from the sofa.
- Long-distance catch-up: start the video call, share the link, play a Standard game, then argue about the questions everyone got wrong.
- Pub quiz warm-up: a Quick three-question game while you wait for the first round.
Quiz with friends FAQ
Do my friends need to download anything?
No. They open the link in any browser on their phone, laptop or tablet, type a name and play.
Can we play if we're not in the same place?
Yes. The game runs in the browser, so it works over any video call, or with no call at all if you're happy to trash-talk in the group chat.
Can I write my own questions?
Not yet. Hosted games draw ten questions from across every pack, so each round is a mix and nobody has seen them in advance.
How many people can join?
Up to 40 players per room, the host included if they play. Larger teams can split into rooms and compare winning scores.
Is it really free?
Yes, with no accounts and no signup. If you enjoy it, buying the maker a coffee helps keep the servers running.
